How to Hide the LinkedIn Sidebars
LinkedIn has no setting to hide its sidebars, not even with Premium. The LinkFeed Pro extension removes both of them, news, ads and suggestions included, with a single option.

What LinkedIn lets you do without an extension
Very little. The right column (LinkedIn News, “Add to your feed”, ads, games) and the left column (profile stats, groups, events) are fixed parts of the layout:
- There is no option to turn off LinkedIn News or the suggestions.
- LinkedIn Premium doesn’t change the layout.
- You can dismiss a single suggestion with its “×”, but a new one takes its place.
The only native workaround is to make the browser window narrow enough that LinkedIn drops the right column. Your feed then gets narrow too, which defeats the purpose.
Why a custom CSS rule keeps breaking
A user style that hides the sidebar containers works on the day you write it. LinkedIn serves several front-end versions in parallel and A/B tests layouts constantly, so the same page can have a different structure next week. When LinkedIn serves the variant your rule doesn’t know, the news module is back.
LinkFeed Pro detects which LinkedIn interface you are on and applies the matching rule. When LinkedIn changes, the rules are updated without you touching anything.
Use the space you get back
Hiding the sidebars leaves the feed as a narrow column in the middle of the screen. Two options fix that:
- Feed Width stretches the feed into the freed space. See how to widen the LinkedIn feed.
- Auto-Expand Posts opens long posts so you read them without clicking “see more”. See auto-expanding LinkedIn posts.
FAQ
Does hiding the sidebars break anything? No. Notifications, messaging, search and the top navigation keep working. Only the side modules are hidden.
Does it remove sponsored posts in the feed too? No. This option hides the side columns. Promoted posts inside the feed are handled by a separate option.
Can I bring the sidebars back? Yes. Turn the option off and they reappear instantly.
Does LinkedIn know I’m hiding them? No. The extension only changes how the page is displayed in your browser. It doesn’t interact with your account.
How much does it cost? Every feature works for 14 days, with no account or card. After that, a one-time lifetime license keeps LinkFeed Pro running. Some features stay free without a license, such as saving a post as an image.
